Sandhill crane migration - the hunters were out this weekend. Hundreds of birds from a near-by field sailed in at one point after a series of five shots. Eventually, someone counted 60 deer who also wandered into the field.
Hundreds of cranes flew over, disturbed by the hunters.
The cranes would hop or fly over a canal and then begin "dancing" or hopping around, as if to re-establish a literal pecking order in their group.

It's tough to get a perspective on this massive dune.
A few trees survive on the dune, holding in the sand.
