British Columbia

Many of places in British Columbia are in the book "1,000 Places to See Before You Die". Vancouver should not be your stayover on the way to or from a cruise ships. You need to stay and explore a culturally diverse region with incredible food, gorgeous scenery and wonderful neighborhoods. Small coffee shops, four-star restaurants, greasy spoons and funky eateries are part of the experience. Just go and take a slow walk around the Stanley Park seawall, breathe deep of the salt air and contemplate life in one of the many gardens.

The short boat trip out to Meares Island is very pretty and very interesting. There was just two of us on the last tour of the day and it was just great (2004).
The early evening sunlight filters through the moss-hung trees on Meares Island. The island is protected from logging and development. It is part of the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere (2004).
The difference between film and digital is immense. The previous shot was on film. The next few photos of a morning trip to Meares Island are all digital. This is Lone Cone Mountain from the mud flats. The tide had started to turn to come in so I could still walk out on the flats for a few shots. (2009)
