British Columbia

Many of places in British Columbia are in the book "1,000 Places to See Before You Die". Vancouver should not be your stayover on the way to or from a cruise ships. You need to stay and explore a culturally diverse region with incredible food, gorgeous scenery and wonderful neighborhoods. Small coffee shops, four-star restaurants, greasy spoons and funky eateries are part of the experience. Just go and take a slow walk around the Stanley Park seawall, breathe deep of the salt air and contemplate life in one of the many gardens.

The marine layer fog began to roll in when I came back around 12:30pm. (2009)
This is a house in North Vancouver. I just happened to be paying attention as we were dirving back from Lynn Canyon and snapped this shot. We did knock on the door to ask permission but no one was home - why? For Stargate fans, you'll recognize this house as "Sam's house" (2006).
Just a couple of kilometers west of Revelstoke, we saw this smoky fire. Eventually, it reached some high-power transmission lines and knocked out power to a huge part of Revelstoke the following morning. We had to drive out from the bed & breakfast to a near-by resort for breakfast. They had no water pressure and made food and coffee so long as the clean dishes and the bottled water held out (August 2006).
